'An Cruidin' The College Boat 2010-2012 with Mick, Mattie, Richie and Philly ( I.T Carlow Private Collection)
During the period 2010-2012 as part of Iris's degree and her community based learning module Iris participated in collaboration with the Southend Family Resource Centre, Wexford Town. The men's shed with its local men built a fishing cott from scratch. This was a very interesting project and Iris used her photographic skills to capture the process of making. During this time and for her final year project Iris continued her engagement with the men. She filmed, directed and edited a documentary ‘An Cruidin’, The College Boat (2012). This film was shown as part of Iris's degree exams in the Wexford Arts centre in May 2012. The video was launched in November 2012 by Brendan Howlin in the Faythe, Wexford. 'Delightful Dollies'
In November 2012, Iris had the opportunity to work on an Intergenerational Project with a women's group in Enniscorthy, organised by Wexford Development. Over a two week period Iris filmed the ladies reminiscing about their lives. They brought photographs and memorabilia to the group and shared their stories. This was a very enjoyable project and a DVD was produced for the ladies to keep. Iris directed, filmed and edited the DVD.
