I had the fantasitic opportunity to go to Wales through a programme called Coracle. It is a programme that is all about developing higher levels skills among creative practitioners in SE Ireland and SW Wales to increase their employment opportunities or their competitiveness in a commercial landscape.
There are five partners in the programme all together, the others being Wexford Arts Centre and Carmarthenshire and Wexford County Council. There are many strands to the project and collaborations one being IT Carlow and Wales Trintiy St. Davids.
I had a week long placement in the beautiful Oriel Myrddin Gallery in Carmarthen, which is situated in the Old Art School a beautiful listed Victorian building. The Exhibition being installed was 'The Dutch Collection'. This gallery is a true gem, if in Wales be sure to make a visit. I made lots of new firends please see links for some exciting art.
